Networking - AZOWO acquires easycheck by edding – greater flexibility in driver's license checks

AZOWO is expanding its portfolio from November 1: The product easycheck by edding is being taken over by the edding Group and integrated into the AZOWO Mobility Cloud.

From edding to AZOWO: The edding Group is best known for its markers, but the international family-owned company from Ahrensburg also develops digital solutions for visual collaboration and innovation processes. The easycheck by edding driver's license check is one of these innovative solutions, which is now finding a new home at AZOWO.

What makes easycheck special? The solution impresses with its simplicity: drivers place their driver's license with a special inspection label on their smartphone and swipe it once. The result is immediately documented digitally – without an app, with minimal data storage, and yet tamper-proof.

The advantage for our customers: even more flexibility in driver's license checks. In the AZOWO Mobility Cloud, scanners, apps, RFID, manual checks, and now easycheck can be individually combined to suit your specific requirements.

“With easycheck by edding, we are integrating an innovative solution that fits perfectly with our approach to flexible, customer-specific fleet management,” explains Patric Schneider, Managing Director of AZOWO GmbH.

Experts - Fleet Plug@Home – Charge company cars at home, bill automatically

More and more companies are turning to electric vehicles to promote sustainability and reduce operating costs. But one key challenge remains: how can employees conveniently charge their company cars at home without having to foot the electricity bill themselves?

Until now, drivers either had to pay the energy costs themselves or companies had to invest in expensive wall boxes for each employee – with time-consuming expense reports and complicated handling when employees changed jobs. High costs for public charging also significantly increase the total cost of ownership.

FleetPlug@Home – the new charging solution from AEW eMobility, Partino, Last Mile Solution, and AZOWO GmbH – now provides a remedy. The innovative solution is already running successfully in Switzerland and is now being expanded further.

The principle: charging data is transmitted directly from the vehicle to the provider and automatically billed to the company. No expensive charging station is required, no integration into third-party backends, no effort when employees change. Digital registration prevents misuse, and reimbursement is transparent and traceable on a monthly basis.

The result: significant cost savings, minimal administrative effort for fleet managers, and happier employees who enjoy using their electric company cars.

Experience - Make your fleet's success visible with AZOWO's new ROI calculator

AZOWO combines over ten years of experience in fleet management in a tool that shows which measures are really worthwhile: the new ROI calculator.

It provides a data-based foundation for informed decisions, budget discussions, and the strategic development of the fleet. The ROI calculator reveals where time and cost drivers lie—such as manual processes, inefficient vehicle utilization, or unnecessary repair costs—and shows where there is potential for optimization.

Whether through AI-supported document management, automated routine tasks, or smart vehicle assignments, the ROI calculator shows which measures pay off. It also allows you to track how changes affect costs over time—for example, in cost control, digitization, or the switch to electric mobility.

Talks: Successful EV fleet management: a guide

The mobility revolution is a reality: two out of three companies in Germany are actively working on electrifying their fleets. The main reasons are cost reduction, environmental goals, and vehicle availability. Those who fail to act now risk rising costs for vehicles and charging infrastructure. Switching to an electric fleet lowers operating costs, reduces CO₂ emissions, strengthens the company's image, secures government subsidies, and increases employee satisfaction. At the same time, it is important to consider the selection of suitable vehicles, charging infrastructure, and transparency of use.

By 2035, electric vehicles could account for more than a quarter of all road vehicles. Fleet managers are under pressure to shape this development and make their fleets future-proof. The AZOWO Mobility Cloud supports the efficient integration and strategic use of electric vehicles.

Important aspects for successful EV fleet management:

Upfront costs & financial management: High acquisition costs are offset in the long term by lower energy and maintenance costs, government incentives, and an improved brand image. Usage and total costs should be tracked to justify investments.

Training & instruction: Management and drivers need training on EV technology, range management, charging planning, driving style, and safety. Digital tools facilitate knowledge transfer.

Vehicle allocation & availability: Range, charging time, and infrastructure must be taken into account when allocating vehicles. Intelligent booking systems, such as AZOWO's, optimize usage.

Charging infrastructure: Charging stations, partnerships with public networks, and optimized charging schedules ensure availability and reduce electricity costs.

Maintenance & servicing: Electric vehicles require special maintenance of batteries and high-voltage systems. Proactive strategies prevent breakdowns.

Data analysis: Energy consumption, battery status, charging patterns, and vehicle usage provide valuable insights. Dashboards and reports support data-driven decisions.

Digital tools & total cost of ownership: Connected platforms make monitoring, maintenance, and cost analysis easier. Despite higher purchase costs, total cost of ownership is often lower.

The transition to electric vehicles is a complex but rewarding journey. With the AZOWO Mobility Cloud, you can master the challenges of EV fleet management, increase efficiency and sustainability, and position your fleet for the future.
