More and more companies are turning to electric vehicles to promote sustainability and reduce operating costs. But electrification raises new questions: How can charging at home be billed fairly and in compliance with the law? Until now, the answer was a calibrated wallbox. But these are expensive, complicated to install, and impractical when employees change jobs or in apartment buildings.
Starting in 2026, a change in the law will allow billing based on vehicle data. AZOWO’s Fleet Plug@Home uses exactly that: employees register their home charging station once, charge using an existing wallbox or standard outlet, and the charging data comes directly from the vehicle. Billing is fully automated.
The solution works both as a standalone product and seamlessly integrated into the AZOWO Mobility Cloud.

How Fleet Plug@Home Works

Employees set up their home location directly in the AZOWO app and enter their personal electricity rate plan. Various rate options are available, including low-cost plans for affordable nighttime electricity. Billing through the company is handled automatically.

Fleet Plug@Home clearly consolidates all home charging stations and charging sessions in the portal. Manual billing is eliminated, and employee changes can be managed effortlessly. Incoming station requests are reviewed and approved with a single click, and key metrics are displayed at a glance.

All charging sessions are automatically logged in the AZOWO Mobility Cloud: kilowatt-hours charged, electricity prices, charging times, and vehicle assignments. Reimbursements are processed monthly and are fully traceable; the data can be exported at any time.

The vehicle provides the data: As soon as the charge level changes, it automatically transmits the kilowatt-hours charged, charging duration, and battery level directly to the AZOWO platform via OEM interfaces.
